As the principal of Ōtūmoetai College, I wish to unreservedly give my endorsement of Dr Craig Harrison. Craig recently delivered a very engaging commentary around ‘The Developing Athlete’ which was both informative and underpinned by cutting edge research.
His message of identifying talent, supporting students and focusing on learning and development rather than simply outcomes, is just what every significant adult be it parent, coach, teacher or manager needs to hear. This message will also influence students’ understanding of themselves as athletes, so they too can play their part.
Craig’s message can be tailored to the sporting requirements of the various codes and can be employed on the training ground, in the classroom and on the sports court or field.
As a principal, and as a parent, I am a fan!
